Author: Christopher James Riethmüller (1813–1895)

Biography: Christopher James Riethmüller was born in 1813 in London, the son of Christopher Ulric Riethmüller. His early life cannot be traced, but he did have at least two sisters. In 1849, he married Elizabeth Baxter (died before 1871) and the couple had no children. Riethmüller worked primarily as an actuary in London and wrote poetry, drama, biography, and fiction as a side line. His two novels had little success with the public and his plays may not have been performed. For the last two decades of his life, he lived as a widower with his two sisters in London. He died in 1895.
