Alternate Name(s): Princess de Montleart (married name)

Biography: Louisa Keir Grant was born around 1812 in Calcutta, the daughter of army officer Sir William Keir Grant (1771–1852) and his wife Rebecca (née Jackson). She enjoyed a privileged upbringing in London. She wrote two novels in her thirties, the first of which was a self-translation of a work she originally wrote in German. Relatively late in life, she married Jules Maximillian Thibaut, Prince of Montleart (1787–1865) who was much her senior. However, the marriage was short-lived since Grant died a year later on 7 August 1861 in Paris.
