Author: Charles Blatherwick (died 1895)

Biography: Charles Blatherwick was born in 1828 in England. He trained as medical doctor and worked as inspector of alkali works in Scotland. Relatively late in life, he wrote several well-received novels in the 1880s and 1890s. In addition, he was an accomplished painter and frequently exhibited in Scotland. He married twice and his daughter Lily Blatherwick also became a painter. He died suddenly on 17 September 1895 in Kirkcudbright.
