Author: Edwin Herbert Gomes (1862–1944)

Biography: The Rev. Edwin Herbert Gomes was born in 1862 in Sarawak, the son of the missionary the Rev. W. H. Gomes. As a young man he wrote a single novel. Thereafter, he served as a missionary himself in Sarawak. He returned to England where he became curate in charge of the Queen Mary road mission in Upper Norwood then worked with the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. He died in 1944 in Upper Norwood.
