Author: Walter Octavius Peile (1844–1918)

Biography: The Rev. Walter Octavius Peile was born in 1844 in Repton, Derbyshire, the son of the Rev. Thomas Williamson Peile. He attended Rugby and Oxford (B.A. 1867, M.A. 1870) before being ordained in 1868. He served in a number of position, including vicar of St. Paul's, Hampstead; rector of Markshall, Essex; chaplain of Bromley College; and vicar of Selborne, Hampshire. While a student he wrote a prize winning poem and later two novels in the 1880s. In 1888, he married Harriet Lloyd but the couple had no children. He died in 1918 in Dorset.
