Biography: Arthur Wood was born in 1826 in Nottingham. He was a comedic actor on the London stage who wrote a handful of comedies. In addition, Wood wrote one novel, the melodramatic Shoddy: A Yorkshire Tale of Home (1877). He worked up until his death on 7 February 1907 in Peckham, South London.
