Author: Arthur Lumley Haddon (1841–1926)

Biography: Arthur Lumley Haddon was born on 2 Febrary 1841 in London. He trained as a painter and exhibited at the Royal Academy. His main career, however, was in teaching art. In 1877, he marred Matilda Rose White and the couple had several children. He found time to write a single novel, the somewhat experimental What Ails the House? (1893). Late in life, he applied to the Royal Literary Fund who found (rightly) his claim insufficient. He died in London in 1926.
