Author: Robert Hudson (1834–1898)

Biography: Robert Hudson was born in 1834 in Pocklington, the son of schoolmaster Charles Hudson. After attending the village school, he became a railway clerk then a manager of a canal in Warwickshire. To supplement his income, he becames a journalist and contributed to a wide variety of magazines. He wrote a single novel, Kimberwell House (1872), which was well received. In 1863, he married Jessie Kynoch and the couple had six children. He died in 1898.
