Biography: Lionel Godfrey Burchett was born in 1863 at sea off the coast of South America, the son of Henry Burchett. He attended Berkhamstead School and Wadham College, Oxford. He wrote several novels, often with a co-author including Charles James Wills and Edwin Pugh. In 1885, he married Alice Maria Pyne. After her death, he married May L. Redshaw in 1936. He died in 1941 in Weston-Super-Mare.
