Author: Margaret S. Comrie (1850–1929)

Biography: Margaret Simpson Comrie was born on 26 November 1850 in Barry, Scotland, the daughter of minister Alexander Comrie and his wife Jane Martin (née Miller). She lived her first several decades in her birthplace. After the death of her father, she, her mother, and her unmarried sisters moved to Tunbridge Wells. In the meantime, she turned her hand to fiction. She never married and died on 2 April 1929 in London.
