Author: Louisa Anne Moncreiff (1823–1877)
Biography: Louisa Anne Moncreiff was born on 6 October 1823 in Edinburgh, the daughter of Sir James Wellwood Moncreiff and his wife Ann Robertson. Her father was a prominent figure in Scottish law. In addition, her older brother was lawyer and author James Wellwood Moncreiff and her younger sister was novelist Catherine Mary Moncreiff. She never married and lived throughout her life with various members of her family. She wrote a handful of novels mainly aimed at juvenile readers. She died on 30 April 1877 in Edinburgh.
