Author: Emily Mary Rutherford (1861–1942)

Biography: Emily Mary Rutherford was born in 1861 in Hackney, the daugher of solicitor John Rutherford and his wife Louisa (née Lynn). She turned her hand to literature from a young age producing her first novel in 1884. She would continue to write fiction and poetry. Rutherford never married and died on 6 June 1942 in Ipswich.
