Biography: Alban Edward Ragg was born in 1848, the son of Thomas Ragg of Lawley, Shropshire. He was the vicar of Christ Church, Chester, but later spent time on Jersey. Under the pseudonym "Rev. Maberly Walker" he wrote Was He Really Mad? (1877), a satire of parish life. He died on 27 May 1914 at Roydon.
