Author: Harriet Stredder (1837–1913)

Biography: Harriet Stredder was born on 6 June 1837 Royston, Cambridgeshire, the daughter of upholster Edward Stredder and Mary Abbott. She was one of five siblings: her brother William (who followed his father into business), schoolteacher Ann, author Eleanor, and author Sarah. None of them married and Harriet lived with one or more of her siblings for the rest of her life. Late in life, she co-wrote Shrouded in Mystery (1901) with her sisters Eleanor and Sarah. She died on 4 February 1913 in Birchington-on-Sea, Kent.
