Author: Edward Haigh Sugden (1858–1930)
Biography: Edward Haigh Sugden was born in October 1858 in Bradford. He attended St. Bees, took holy orders, and earned an M.A. from Durham University. He served in a number of places including Asby, Millom, Haugton-le-Skerne, Carlisle, and Brough. In addition to his duties, he wrote several books including two novels. In 1901, he married Clara Bell and the couple had five children. Poor health forced his retirement and he died on 17 July 1930 in Newbury.
