Author: Andrew W. Arnold
Author: Andrew W. Arnold (1858–1951)
Biography: Andrew William Arnold was born on 10 October 1858 in Dorking, the son of wine merchant Edward Arnold and his wife Rebecca. He appears to have had a very comfortable childhood and lived most of his life without a profession. He wrote the single novel but contributed fiction to several periodicals including Blackwood's and Chambers's. He never married and died on 17 November 1951 in Tunbridge Wells. Out of his considerable estate, he interestingly left £1,500 to First World War veteran John Powell who rose from a private to a major during his service.
