Author: Benjamin Clarke (1836–1893)

Biography: Benjamin Clarke was born on 16 July 1836 in London, the son of Peter Courtenay Clarke. He was the general editor for the publishing arm of the Sunday School Union and secretary of the Homes for Little Boys at Farningham, Kent. Clarke was also the editor of Kind Words and the Sunday School Chronicle. In addition he wrote works aimed at young readers including fiction. He died on 30 January 1893 in London.
