Author: Mary Catherine Jackson (1827–1914)

Biography: Mary Catherine Jackson was born in 1827 in Newport, Shropshire, the daughter of barrister William Owen Jackson and his wife Catherine Elizabeth Bishton. Her mother died when she was a child. In addition to a travel book, Jackson wrote three novels. When her brother Standish Radley Jackson died, she became the guardian of his two children. Jackson never married and died on 8 March 1914 in Southampton.
