Author: Thomas Sutton (1819–1875)
Biography: Thomas Sutton was born in 1819 in London. He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge, with a B.A. in 1846 then moved to Jersey. He was an avid photographer: he took a series of photographs of Rome, invented a new development process, edited a photography journal, and wrote prolifically on the subject. He also wrote three novels, including the highly sensational Unconventional (1866). He died suddenly in Wales from a stomach complaint in 1875.
