Author: Elizabeth Rachel Chapman (1850–1902)
Biography: Elizabeth Rachel Chapman was born on 17 February 1850 in Woodford, Essex, the daughter of merchant Abel Chapman and his wife Elizabeth (née Fry). Through her mother, she was a lineal descendent of Elizabeth Fry. From her teenage years, Chapman wrote poetry, publishing several collections over the years. In addition, she wrote some fiction as well as essays. She never married and died on 6 March 1902 in London.
