Author: Jane Rachel Henslowe (1851–1942)

Biography: Jane Rachel Henslowe was born in 1851 in Langport, Somerset, the daughter of clergyman Edward P. Henslowe, the vicar of Huish Episcopi-cum-Langport, and his wife Jane Rachel (née Lambert). She never married and in middle age wrote a few novels beginning with Dorothy Compton (1880). After her parents died, Henslowe moved to the London area. She died in 1942 in Winchester at age 91.
