Author: William Pickersgill (1822–1875)
Biography: William Pickersgill was born about 1822 in Newcastle, the son of William Pickersgill. His early life cannot be traced. He worked as a ship broker and merchant in Newcastle. In 1849, he married Susan Ridley and the couple had two daughters. In addition to his occupation, he contributed to Ainsworth's Magazine and wrote two novels. He died in 1875 in Newcastle.
