Author: Frances Georgiana Herbert (1809–1885)

Biography: Frances Georgiana Caroline Herbert was born in 1809 in Norfolk, the granddaughter of the first Earl of Carnarvon and daughter of the Hon. and Rev. George Herbert, vicar of Tibenham, Norfolk. She and her sister Maria Justina Frances Herbert (died 25 January 1872) were introduced to the publisher Bentley by their relative Colonel Stepney Cowell-Stepney. Herbert wrote the single historical novella which was published with an additional story by her and another by her sister. She never married and died in August 1885.
