Author: Hon. Frederick Walpole (1822–1876)

Biography: The Hon. Frederick Walpole was born in 1822, the younger son of Horatio Walpole (1783–1858), the 3rd Earl of Orford, and Mary Fawkener. He served in the Royal Navy attaining the rank of commander. Based on his travels he wrote Four Years in the Pacific (1849) and The Ansayrii, and the Assassins (1851) about the Middle East. In 1852, he married his second cousin Laura Sophia Frances Walpole (d. 1901) and they had several children. Walpole wrote one novel, the love story May and September (1867). The following year he was elected to Parliament for Norfolk North. He died suddenly in 1876.
