Alternate Name(s): J. I. Stahlmann (pseudonym)

Biography: John Crawford Fraser was born on 17 June 1875 in Peking, the son of diplomist Hugh Fraser and novelist Mary Crawford Fraser. As a young man, he wrote the single novel and later co-wrote some novels with her mother under the pseudonym "J. I. Stahlmann." Fraser seems to have lived a wandering life, spending time in London before emigrating to the west coast of the United States. Presumably he died there in 1931.
