Author: Cecilia Anne Jones (1832–1891)
Biography: Cecilia Anne Jones was born 1832 in St. Helier, Jersey, the daughter of surgeon George Matthew Jones and his wife Jane Mary (née Rogers). She never married and began writing fiction in her twenties. Sometime after 1861, she left her native Jersey for England, living in London then Saltash. She died on 19 March 1891 in Bow near Exeter after a fall from a train. The inquest found that she suffered a seizure and either fell or jumped from the moving train.
