Author: Charlotte Gilson Boger (1826–1903)

Alternate Name(s): Allen (maiden name)

Biography: Charlotte Gilson Boger was born in 1826 in Ilminster, the daughter of the Rev. John Allen, headmaster of Ilminster Grammar School. As a girl, she followed the school's curriculum (though could not "attend"). She married the Rev. Edmund Boger who served as headmaster to several schools and finally as the vicar of Chart Sutton, Kent. As an author, Boger wrote the single novel but went on to be a noted antiquarian. She died on 11 August 1903 at her home in Chiswick. Note: her entry in Loeber implies she was Irish; however there is no evidence she ever lived there.
