Author: Margaret Parker Macdonald (1867–1949)

Biography: Margaret Parker Macdonald was born on 27 September 1867 in Nairn, Scotland, the daughter of the Rev. Professor Murdoch Macdonald. The family emigrated to Australia in 1875 where her father took up a post at Ormond College. She attended the Presbyterian Ladies' College in Melbourne. In mid-life, she turned her hand to writing fiction, mainly aimed at young adult readers. She never married and died on 26 February 1949 in Victoria.
