Biography: William Kingscote Greenland was born on 28 September 1868 in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, the son of Wesleyan minister James Greenwood and his wife Louisa. Greenland followed his father into the ministry. Under the pseudonym "W. Scott King," he wrote a few novels. In addition, he edited Young Man and contributed to several magazines. He married twice, first in 1898 to Florence Jennings Lock and second in 1920 to Gertrude Evelyn Mutch. He died on 12 December 1957 in Blewbury, Berkshire.
