Author: Edwin Harris (1859–1938)

Biography: Edwin Harris was born in 1859 in Rochester. As a child, he met Charles Dickens when the great author freed Harris from a railing. He worked as a letterpress printer in his native town. He wrote two novels in the Victorian period which he printed himself. Harris became a noted Dickensian and wrote several guides to Rochester and the surrounding areas. Late in life, he wrote a completion to The Mystery of Edwin Drood. He died on 10 August 1938 in Rochester.
