Author: Harriet Emily Colvile (1855–1932)
Biography: Harriett Emily Colvile was born 3 April 1855 in Leek Wootton, Warwickshire, the only daughter of clergyman Frederick Leigh Colvile and his wife Caroline. In the 1890s, she began writing fiction, mostly aimed at young adult readers. For the latter part of her life she lived in Bournemouth. She never married and died on 3 October 1932 in Bournemouth.
