Author: George Henry Hemsoll (1860–1940)

Biography: George Henry Hemsoll was born on 30 December 1860 in Sheffield, the son of cutlery-factory manager George Hemsoll. He became a clerk for a steelworks and later the owner of a shorthand and typewriting business. He also took an interest in church work. In 1885, he married Margaret A. Schofield and the couple had one son. Hemsoll wrote the single novel, The Clayborough Endeavourers (1900), which reflected his religious beliefs. He died on 5 August 1940 in Birmingham.
