Author: James Bagnall Stubbs (1878–1954)
Biography: James Bagnall Stubbs was born on 1 July 1878 in Wall, Staffordshire, the youngest son of farmer Thomas Stubbs. He briefly served in the army before becoming a druggist. In the 1890s, he turned his hand to fiction and wrote at least two novels. He married Elizabeth Mary Johnson in 1901. At some point, the couple moved to Calgary. Stubbs enlisted during the First World War. He died on 17 April 1954 in Calgary.
