Biography: Frances Maria Caroline Whittaker was born on 19 March 1840 in Kingsbarns, Fifeshire, the daughter of Sir William Henry Feilden, Bt and his wife Mary Elizabeth Wemyss. In 1863, she married clergyman Edmund Juxon Wemyss Whittaker and the couple had one daughter. Her husband was the vicar of Falfield then the vicar of St. Mark's, Bath. After her marriage, Whittaker wrote a handful of novels for young adult readers under her initials. She died on 12 January 1918 in Bath.
