Biography: Anne Leason was born on 30 November 1823 in London, the daughter of victualer Joseph Leason and his wife Frances (née Chambers). She never married and worked as a governess before she and her sister opened a girls' school in Uxbridge. In addition, she wrote two juvenile novels under the pseudonym "L. S. N." She died in 1906 in Uxbridge. Note: author identified in the Routledge publication books.
