Biography: Eliza Margaretta Wilsford Bewsher was born in 1828 in Claverley, the eldest daughter of surgeon William Hewer and his wife Eliza. In 1854, she married clergyman Thomas James Bewsher. The couple lived in Cley, Norfolk where her husband was the rector. During her married life she wrote fiction in the 1870s, a few of them "founded on fact" as she notes. Her husband died suddenly in 1878, and Bewsher moved to Bromley. She died on 2 October 1907 in Bromley.
