Author: Mary Atkinson Maurice (1797–1858)
Biography: Mary Atkinson Maurice was born on 17 May 1797 in Kirby Cane, Norfolk, the daughter of Unitarian minister Michael Maurice and his wife Priscilla (née Hurry). She never married and spent most of her life living with her parents. In her last decade, she wrote two novels. She died on 4 October 1858 in Great Yarmouth.
