Biography: Marianne Graham Campbell was born about 1816 in Dundalk, Ireland, the only daughter of Patrick Graham. In 1846, she married schoolmaster Douglas Henry Campbell. The couple had no children and lived in Gloucestershire. As a wife, Campbell, or "Mrs. Graham Campbell" as she styled herself, wrote "on morals and natural science" aimed at juvenile readers. In addition, she wrote one novel. By the 1861 census, she was partially blind. Tragically, her husband was drowned in Table Bay on 29 July 1868. She never remarried and died on 11 February 1886 in Cheltenham.
