Author: Ada Catherine Fielder King (1850–1905)

Biography: Ada Catherine Fielder King was born about 1850 in Buriton, the only daughter of Fielder King of Fyning House, Rogate. Her father died during her childhood. Thereafter, she and her widowed mother lived in London and then Hampshire. King never married and wrote two fairly successful novels in the 1880s. Her later years were spent on the Isle of Wight where she died on 12 April 1905. Note: it was only late in life that King added "Fielder" to her name.
