Biography: Celia Connelly was born in 1834 in Philadelphia, the daughter of pioneer theatrical manager C. A. Logan. She traveled west to Cincinnati with her father where she acted on stage. She had a brief marriage with Conrad B. Clarke in 1852 but he died of consumption a few years later. In 1859, in Paris, she married the painter Miner K. Kellogg and the couple spent time in London. While there, she published a novel The Elopement (1863) under the pseudonym "L. Fairfax." Returning to America, she divorced her husband in 1872 and married the Boston newspaperman James A. Connelly. She spent her latter years writing plays. She died on 20 May 1904 in New York.
