Author: Julia Luard (1827–1888)

Biography: Julia Louisa Luard was born about 1827 in London, the daughter of clergyman Edward Luard, one-time rector of Winterslow. Her early life cannot be traced. By 1871, she was living with her paternal aunt in Farnham and they later moved to Christchurch. In middle age, she began writing fiction, producing three novels in a decade. She never marred and died on 22 June 1888 in Bournemouth.
