Author: William Duncan Latto (1823–1899)

Biography: William Duncan Latto was born on 27 June 1823 in Ceres, Fifeshire. He entered journalism, eventually becoming the long-time editor of the People's Journal newspaper in Dundee. He wrote a series of dialect stories for the paper which were collected in three volumes over the years. He married Margaret Findley and the couple had several children. He died on 16 July 1899 in Perthshire.
