Author: Ulick J. Burke (1843–1913)

Biography: Ulick John Burke was born in July 1843 in London, the son of J. St. George Burke, Q.C. He attended Eton and Oxford (B.A.) and was called to bar. Burke enjoyed a successful practice as a barrister in London. He married Edith Bernardstein and the couple had four children. Burke found the time to write the single work of fiction, The Boy's Walton (1878), a self-described "discource on fishing" in the guise of juvenile fiction. He died suddenly of a heart attack on 12 March 1913 in Newton Valence. He left a small fortune at his death.
