Biography: Elvina Mary Corbould was born on 27 April 1849 in Islington, the daughter of surgeon Henry Heath Corbould and his wife Ann Ker. After attending boarding school she worked as a governess. She wrote several educational works on knitting as well as one novel Sweet Little Rogues (1876). Late in life, she married the physician Mark Anthony Robinson. Corbould died on 6 October 1936 in Bath.
