Author: Fergus Ferguson (1824–1897)

Biography: Fergus Ferguson was born on 6 September 1824 in Glasgow, the son of minister Fergus Ferguson (d. 1878). He was educated at Glasgow University (B.A. 1845, M.A. 1858) before following his father into ministry. He served most of his career in Glasgow in the Congregational Church. He also wrote several books, mainly religious, as well as some temperance fiction. He married twice and had several children. He died on 3 November 1897 in Glasgow.
