Author: Cecilia Findlay (1852–1928)
Biography: Cecelia Mary Louise Findlay was born on 2 December 1852 in Calcutta, the daughter of merchant James Findlay and his wife Eleanor Sarah Sandford. As was common for the time, she was sent to England where she lived with her maternal relatives in London. Findlay wrote the single novel Cross Purposes (1880). Two years later, she married Walter Combermere Lee Floyd and the couple had four children. As a widow, she moved to Bath where she died on 24 December 1928.
