Author: Constance Burdett (1849–1932)
Alternate Name(s): An Old Cormorant (pseudonym); Dyneley (married name)
Biography: Constance Angela Mary Burdett was born around 1849 in Windsor, the daughter of landowner and army officer Sedley Burdett. She grew up in relative comfort. As a young woman, she wrote A Flight of Fancy, Folly, and Fun (1878) under the pseudonym "An Old Cormorant." This appears to be her only work of fiction. In 1882, she married the widowed army officer Henry Ellenborough Dyneley and the couple had three daughters. A woman of means, Burdett supported much charitable work in her local community. She died on 29 March 1932 in Folkestone.
