Author: Richard Stanley Freeman (1834–1923)

Biography: Richard Stanley Freeman was born on 16 June 1834 in Islington, the son of solicitor Thomas J. Freeman. He became a photographer in London. In 1859, he married Jane England and the couple had three sons. Freeman wrote a collection of stories The Painted Deal Locker (1878) which he illustrated with his own photographs. He died on 16 December 1923 at the Leytonstone Nursing Home in Essex.
