Biography: Ethel Bourne was born in 1830 in Lymington, the daughter of John Mason and his wife Elizabeth Anne. In 1847, she married John Mason. The couple lived at Hildertone Hall in Staffordshire. Under the pseudonym "Evelyn Burne" she wrote two works of fiction. She died on 6 July 1910 in Bedford.
