Author: Jetta Sophia Wolff (1853–1926)
Biography: Jetta Sophia Wolff was born in 1853 in Paddington, the daughter of German-born professor of languages Ferdinand Wolff and his English-born wife. She worked as a teacher for a time before dedicating herself to literary work, writing a score of books. Her single work of fiction is a collection of stories about Lancashire where she grew up. In the twentieth century she moved to France and she wrote several books on French history. She never married and died in 1926 in Paris.
